1990 LA to Vegas

This was one of my first big dual sport rides, LA to Vegas and back. As you can see we thought putting saddlebags on the bikes to carry our clothes and other things was the way to go. Of course no one had the proper mounts so we tied and strapped them on, resulting in many stops to repair the saddlebags.
Day one was LA to Barstow and we had planed to ride through the mountains around Big Bear but as we got to the higher elevations we found that there was just to much snow, so we got off of the dirt and dropped down into the desert by paved roads. Day two we followed a B to V dual sport route. Day three we rode all the way back from Vegas to LA.

Starting out.
Getting out of town.
Heading to the hills.
With dirt like this, even a KLR turns good.
Ice, a fall, and the first saddlebag repair.
